Our approach
BestFoot keeps personal data only while it is needed to provide the service, protect it, or meet a legal obligation. We review this schedule when the product begins collecting a new category of data and at least once each year.
Retention schedule
| Data | What it includes | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Account and career data | Profile, work history, education, skills, achievements, jobs, applications, generated CVs and suggestions | For as long as your account is active |
| Original CV upload | The source PDF uploaded for CV import | Deleted after the processing attempt. A storage rule makes any remaining copy eligible for expiry after one day. |
| CV import results | Extracted profile drafts, achievement candidates and import warnings | For as long as your account is active |
| Data exports | The JSON file created when you select Download data | Generated on request and not stored by BestFoot |
| Rate-limit counters | Short-lived counters used to protect expensive API operations | Automatically expire shortly after the relevant rate-limit window |
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings. BestFoot removes your account data from the live application database and deletes any CV source objects that remain. Your sign-in identity is also deleted.
Before deleting your account, you can download a copy of your data from Settings. Account deletion cannot be undone.
Backups and operational records
Infrastructure backups, service logs, error reports and aggregate analytics may follow separate, provider-controlled expiry cycles. They are restricted to recovery, security and service reliability purposes. When backup copies are introduced, deleted data will be placed beyond normal use and allowed to expire under the documented backup schedule.
Earlier deletion and policy changes
You may delete individual records in the product where that option is available, or delete your account to remove all account data. We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be shown here with a new last-updated date.
